Discovery is go!

After much anticipation, the new Discovery 48 luxury cruising yacht is taking shape. This Discovery 48 will continue Discovery Yachts’ proud tradition of offering the highest quality build and exceptional pedigree with an emphasis on offshore performance.

The waterline length has been maximised to deliver impressive passage times while enhancing the interior for luxurious onboard living. A raised saloon and navigation station will also continue the Discovery trademark of ensuring excellent visibility from within, as well as a spacious and sociable saloon area.

The interior design offers a two (to three) cabin layout, including a luxurious owner’s cabin, plus two heads. On deck, the Discovery 48 features a solent rig with in-mast furling, self-tacking jib and overlapping masthead for simple, sail handling. An aft cockpit design with a single (Ocean version) or twin (Riviera version) wheels are available with a fold down bathing platform, and teak deck offered as standard.

The underwater hull profile incorporates exceptional form stability with twin rudders and a high aspect ratio deep keel for excellent all-around sailing capability. The hull has already undergone extensive sea trials (off the south coast of Great Britain), proving her to be a first class performer with good upwind speed pointing to 30 degrees with a comfortable motion.
