Thirteen multihulls participated in the biennial three-day event which incorporated laid-back cruising in Pittwater’s marine wonderland and an itinerary of relaxation and unforgettable social occasions.

The participants assembled at Café on Pittwater on the Friday afternoon for an official briefing and distribution of Rally Kits before sharing outlandish sailing tales over canapes and drinks at sunset.

Competition was fierce the following day at the traditional Figurehead competition off Scotland Island, as entrants sailed past the mothership boat parading their most outrageous figurehead costumes. The fleet then sailed around spectacular Lion Island before anchoring at Refuge Bay in the afternoon for an idyllic afternoon of socialising, beach games and swimming with picture perfect weather.

The company’s famous Prawn and Punch Beach Party was an outstanding success and set the tone for an evening of ‘boat crawling’ as participants visited each others’ vessels for drinks and nibbles under a canopy of stars.

The group shook off the cobwebs on Sunday morning with another couple of cruising laps around Lion Island before heading to the Royal Motor Yacht Club for the highly anticipated Jungle Party and Presentation Ceremony.

Guests donned jungle attire and enthusiastically enjoyed the lively music and great dinner as a swag of prizes were announced for those who had best embraced the spirit of the weekend.

The overall winner who was awarded the Multihull Solutions Cup and a magnum of Brockenchack wine was the crew of the Schionning catamaran Enterprise.  Second place was won by the crew of the Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 Vivant who received a private Brockenchack wine tasting experience.

The event was also supported by other wonderful sponsors who provided additional prizes, including a $500 travel voucher from Escape Travel, Musto sailing jackets, subscriptions to Cruising Helmsman and Multihull World magazines, a $500 boat wrap voucher from Print Image Signs, plus plenty of goodies including eskies, dry bags, stubby coolers, wine holders and caps from Abell Point Marina, Pantaenius and Nautilus Insurance.

The Multihull Solutions rallies continue to be among the industry’s most popular social sailing events with anyone welcome to join aboard their own sail or power multihull or by chartering a catamaran in the area. The company also stages fun rallies in Queensland’s Moreton Bay and the Whitsundays.
