At Rivergate, innovation is accepted as systems and methods that enhance efficiency and cost management, saving time and money for the customer, and the facility’s environmental impact, with the aim of reducing our carbon footprint wherever possible. All personnel are encouraged to think like innovators, armed with the training, tools and support network to leverage the competencies and assets of the entire team and external resources, to create new solutions tailored to our customers’ individual needs, as well as to examine and adopt new trends and influences from beyond the marine industry.
Innovators do not do things “by the book”, but rather seek new insight to traditional challenges and adapt them to the workplace, always with the customer’s benefit at the forefront.
Rivergate is a powerhouse of innovation, investing in leading-edge technology for its customers –superyachts, commercial craft, recreational vessels undergoing refits, maintenance, service and new builds.Rivergate superyacht specialist, Steve Fisher draws upon 35 years’ industry experience and is supported by a highly-skilled management team that is hands-on in all facets of operation.Fisher describes a recent project initiated by Rivergate that stands testament to the practical application of their innovative approach to challenges.“Being part of a river system, Rivergate noted debris after major storms floating in the river, ultimately becoming trapped in the marina. In response, Rivergate designed and built its own environmental rubbish recovery vessel which works with a central basket and hydraulic conveyor belt, allowing our team to get into berths and extract debris from the marina.

“A forklift then removes the basket for emptying, thus removing the rubbish from the river system. This enhances the local environment and removes hazards for our customers’ vessels and operations team.”

This is just one of a myriad of projects, initiatives and systems that Rivergate has implemented in its decade of operation, during which time it has won several industry awards for its approach to service, its personnel and world-class facilities.

“Innovation is crucial to maintaining a competitive advantage in a constantly changing global industry,” says Rivergate General Manager, Andrew Cannon. “Rivergate is proud to contribute to recognising and rewarding companies who share this ethos.”
