The Contest 50CS will debut at the Annapolis Sailboat Show, 9 to 12 October 2025. Designed by judel/vrolijk & co with interiors by Wetzels Brown, it is positioned as a new European superyacht for the American market.

It will also compete in the prestigious Cruising World Boat of the Year 2026 program.

At the recent Cannes Yachting Festival 2025, the yard also presented the European Yacht of the Year 2025, the Contest 63CS, alongside its smaller sister, the Contest 49CS.

The Contest 50CS, however, is bringing even bigger, brighter suites fore and aft with its a third-cabin option – and with its full range spanning 42 to 85-feet (13 to 26 metres), the 50-foot centre cockpit sector is also a key feature.

The luxury yacht that can also be sailed super efficiently – even single-handed – with its high-spec automated (with full manual back up) systems.

Each Contest yacht is semi-custom built to specific owner requirements, and for visitors and award juries alike the super-luxurious Contest 50CS provides a clear focus.

The yacht stands out for its levels of construction, meticulous hand finishing, and the advanced judel/vrolijk & co hull form.

This design also achieves the four key modern targets: strong performance up and downwind in all conditions; simple sail management; low angles of heel; and expansive accommodation. The interior, styled by superyacht specialists Wetzels Brown, completes the picture.

Each individual built yacht by Contest is also monitored throughout design, construction and final delivery by lead surveyors from the compliance and classification society, Lloyd’s Register.

In the Contest 50CS aesthetics and the practicalities of yacht operations also merge well, as has long been the mantra at Contest Yachts.

Sheets, lines and halyards lead unobtrusively to top of the range winches well positioned for both short- and fully crewed handling.

The expansive flush deck spaces are made sensibly safe with well-placed handholds and grab points, with sturdy, tall guardrails all around. The flying of asymmetric sails is simplified with the A-frame set-up, and the stowage of sails and kit made easy with well-proportioned deck lockers and hatches.
