Registration for the 80th Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race opened Wednesday 12 March and will close on Friday 24 October at 1700 hours.
The 80th anniversary of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race is expected to attract huge interest from sailors from Australia and around the globe, all eager to participate in the milestone event.
The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) cordially invites owners of eligible yachts to join the festivities and celebrate the 80th iteration of the 628 nautical mile race on Boxing Day, 26 December.

The lead up to the 2025 Hansa Class World and International Championships, 23 to 30 March 2025 at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, is the opportunity to celebrate Hansa’s aims and what makes this international class unique.
Boating Industry Association President Andrew Fielding said Hansa was an outstanding example of the diversity of business within the BIA membership across Australia.
Hansa Sailing came about through the evolution of a sailing dinghy designed by Chris Mitchell. A life-long boat builder, Chris was living and working in Southeast Asia when he designed the forerunner of the current Hansa 2.3.

Swedish yacht builder, Hallberg-Rassy launched the Hallberg-Rassy 69 with softtop at boot Düsseldorf in January 2025.
Described by its designers as “the largest and the greatest yacht ever built by Hallberg-Rassy”, the new flagship can be handled by a family crew, by the concept of effortless sailhandling through Pushbutton Sailing. At the same time, there is room for deckhand or skipper if desired.
