Aussie SB20 Champs

A fifth place in the final race was enough for Will Sargent and his Australian team to claim the 2023 SB20 World Championship.

Tasmanian Will Sargent sailing with Eddie Read, Paige Caldicoat and Marios Eirini clinched the 2023 SB20 World Championship title with 52 pts, after just one final race was possible on Friday in Scheveningen, Holland.

Tiago Morais of Portugal, sailing with Miguel Oliveira and Francisco Oliveira was second tied on 60 pts with third placed John Pollard of Britain, sailing with Henry Wetherell and James Grummett.

Final race winner was Paul McCartney of Australia who finished 8th overall.

Portugal were winners of the Nations Cup.

Will Sargent, Eddie Read, Paige Caldicoat and Marios Eirini have been crowned 2023 SB20 World Champs.

Will and team celebrate bringing the trophy home.

The young team took out the 2022 SB20 Youth Worlds.

All four Portuguese teams finish the regatta in top 10 with Freedom of Martin Estlander in 4th, AP Hotels of Jose Paulo Ramada in 6th and Solyd Sailing team of Vasco Serpa in 9th overall.
