The 2022 Colin Mullins Youth Cup, hosted by Royal Perth Yacht Club, was held over the weekend on Swan River.

After a day of match racing in Matilda Bay, the afternoon was capped off with a tight finals series to decide not only first and second place, but also the petit final to decide third and fourth place.

Ethan Prieto-Low and his Swan River Sailing team claimed the title after a tight three-race series with fellow clubmate, Marcello Torre and his Columbus Racing Team.

Organisers offer a huge thank you to host club Royal Perth Yacht Club, volunteers, officials, Marksetbot Australia, Quality Marine Clothing and competitors for all the efforts on and off the water to produce such a fantastic local youth match racing regatta.

The WA Tour will see a series of three match racing events, targeted to youth sailors, sailed over January and February in Western Australia.

The WA Tour is structured as a short series with aggregated scoring, overall prize money and handicaps to encourage fierce competition, dedication, hard work and skill development for local youth sailors during this second, irregular Perth summer.

Coming up in February is the 2022 Perth Youth Cup, which will be held in place of the Warren Jones International Regatta/Festival of Sail, running 9 to 11 February and hosted by the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. Information here.
