The Ocean Race Europe 2025 came to a spectacular close in Montenegro’s Boka Bay with a dramatic coastal showdown that saw Paul Meilhat’s (FRA) Biotherm (FRA) put the icing on the cake and win again in the final coastal race in style.
Under blue skies and in front of packed crowds, the seven IMOCA teams delivered one final battle around a tight, tactical course in the fjord-like waters of Boka Bay. While Biotherm had already sealed the overall title, the race for the remaining podium positions was still wide open.
Team Paprec Arkéa (FRA) made the best start, leading through the early marks, while Team Holcim – PRB (SUI) struggled after a messy manoeuvre.
But Biotherm closed the gap on the second lap, overtaking on the inside before powering clear to take yet another win, their fourth of the campaign, finishing the race with a dominant 55 points.
Team Paprec Arkéa crossed in second to secure the overall runner-up spot on 40 points, with skipper Yoann Richomme (FRA) praising his team’s consistency throughout the six-week race.
Team Holcim – PRB, led by Rosalin Kuiper (NED), completed the podium both on the day and overall with 38.5 points.
Behind them, Team Malizia (GER) finished fourth overall, just ahead of Ambrogio Beccaria’s Allagrande Mapei Racing (ITA). Canada Ocean Racing – Be Water Positive (CAN) delivered one of the standout performances of the day with a strong fifth place in the coastal race.
With the second edition of The Ocean Race Europe wrapped up in spectacular fashion, the eyes of the sailing world now turn to the next major event: The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026, a transatlantic contest linking New York and Barcelona.
