HH Catamarans announces production of the first HH88.

HH Catamarans announces the initiation of production of the first full-custom, all-carbon HH88 catamaran. The Morrelli & Melvin design will be built at Hudson Yacht Group’s wholly owned yard in Xiamen, China.
This new 26.8-metre sailing catamaran represents a new course for the company, with aims to propel the brand into superyacht territory.
The new HH88 will offer up to ten guests and four crew. All sail handling and helm controls will be managed from the fully-enclosed upper flybridge. Beyond the air conditioned flybridge enclosure, a spacious aft cockpit with fresh water jacuzzi will be surrounded by loungers and an alfresco dining area.
The interior décor will be highlighted by illuminated granite, carbon details, and specifically selected, solid burr walnut ‘lava’ joinery. The interior arrangement has been carefully considered and optimised for luxury charters. It features four guest suites, an additional double cabin, and two crew cabins.

The master stateroom is on deck, forward of the salon. The galley is below in one hull and will be outfitted with a 6-burner range, top-of-the-line equipment, and generous counter space for preparation and plating. Jet ski, 5.75-metre tender, and dive gear will be stowed aft, with large forepeak and foredeck lockers for sail and fender storage. Air conditioning will be capable of running overnight in ‘silent mode’, powered by an impressive 70kW lithium-ion battery bank. Batteries will be quickly recharged each day with an impressive 6kW solar arrangement, and two 24kW synchronised generators.
Using 100% carbon construction, carbon mast and rigging, and advanced engineering techniques, the HH88 will adhere to the strong performance parameters of her pedigree. Though not designed to fly a hull, the HH88 will cruise comfortably at a respectable 18 knots under sail, with guests onboard never suffering more than a four degree heel angle, an essential requirement for keeping everyone comfortable and the champagne flowing.
HH8801’s owners intend to explore globally full time for the initial two years after launch, and then make the yacht available for charter up to six weeks each year. Tooling and engineering are underway now, and the anticipated launch date is early 2022.
