Gweilo, Matt Donald and Chris Townsend’s TP52, has been declared the winner of ORCi Division 1 in the 2022 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

The revised result comes after Sam Haynes’ TP52 Celestial, the provisional winner of ORCi Division 1, withdrew from the division.

Celestial had a flying headsail up at the same time as a spinnaker during the race, which is not permitted by ORCi rules (Rule 208.2 a) ii) ).

Owner/skipper Haynes withdrew the boat from the ORCi division after determining it had contravened the rules.

Gweilo, originally second in the division, moves into top spot, with Quest (Craig Neil) second and Alive (Duncan Hine) third.

Warrior Won, Chris Sheehan’s Pac 52, also withdrew from ORCi Division 1 after flying a non-compliant sail.
