Countdown ‘til Cannes

Founded in 1977, the Cannes Yachting Festival is celebrated as the first show in the European boating season and is one of Europe’s leading in-water yachting event.

The Cannes Yachting Festival, adjacent to the iconic Palais des Festivals, extends from one end of the Croisette to the other and throughout Vieux Port and Port Canto.

In 2019, the Festival welcomes Guest of Honour, Ms Isabelle Autissier, the French marathon sailor and first woman to sail solo around the world, and event Ambassador, Armel Le Cléac’h, IMOCA world champion in 2008, French champion in single-handed yacht race in 2003, and winner of the Single-Handed Trans-Atlantic Race in 2016.

The major change this year will see all sailing vessels both monohull and multihull have their own dedicated section on Port Canto. A full tender service will run from both ports each day.

There are seven sectors at the Vieux Port:

  • Luxury Galley, which is dedicated to luxury lifestyle brands;
  • Palais Des Festivals, dedicated shipyards, architects and designers, interior layouts, clothing, accessories, marinas, and outside, the Tender and Toys area with the latest innovations;
  • The Superyachts Extension with vessels from 25 to 55 metres, as well as shipyards, brokers and allied services on the marina;
  • La Jetée for boats from 10 to 45 metres as well as engines, propellers, thrusters, refitting and yacht transport;
  • La Pantiero for boats from 10 to 34 metres including open, sport, fly and sport fishing, plus the equipment village and nautical accessories;
  • Quai Saint-Pierre for boats from 10 to 25 metres, including sailing and motor boats;
  • Quai Max Laubeuf which will showcase 160 boats of 10 to 20 metres and a dedicated space for RIBS.

The opening of the Sailing Area at Port Canto will welcome 120 new sailboats, monohulls and multihulls from 10 meters on, and more than 80 exhibitors.

With more than a hundred sailboats at Port Canto, the Yachting Festival will be one of the world’s largest exhibition of new yachts.
