On Monday 16 March it was announced that the America’s Cup visit to The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club will be postponed.

The ongoing issues with Coronavirus (COVID-19) have caused the RPAYC to postpone the March 28-29 visit of the America’s Cup and a host of other club events.

As recent as Friday, organisers were confident this event would go ahead, and the club hopes to run the event later this year.

In a statement, the club reported: “It is with great disappointment we hoist the AP flag on our flagship promotional event; the March 28-29 visit of the America’s Cup to the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) and hope we may be able run the event later this year.”

Preparations for the inaugural Moonen Yachts Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race, which starts on January 30, 2021 will proceed and the club keep everyone informed of developments as they happen.
