For the second year, STP Shipyard Palma and the must-visit Marina Ibiza are organising the Ibiza JoySail Superyacht Regatta – a special yet casual event held on the Balearic Islands.

Several races will take place between Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera, with the Mediterranean lifestyle, get-togethers with friends and family and exclusive evening events included.

This year, for the first time, several YYachts owners will be taking part, with organisers planning to give a special trophy to the best YYachts participant.

“Fun will clearly be the main focus of this event, however, just as the concept of Ibiza JoySail envisages,” said Dirk Zademack, Managing Partner of YYachts.

“But it’s nice to see that the fleet of delivered YYachts is now so large that we can have a strong presence at an event like this.”

The teams will arrive in Mallorca and meet at STP in Palma de Mallorca, one of the most renowned refit yards in the Mediterranean. STP features seven dry docks and six travel lifts up to 1,000 tonnes on a footprint of 130,000 square meters.

From there, participants will start on the 60-nautical-mile offshore regatta from Palma to the exclusive port Marina Ibiza.

In the following days, several offshore regattas will take place between Ibiza and Formentera. Each day, the racing will prelude an onshore event, where teams and guests can look forward to relaxed entertainment and new contacts.

“I am already looking forward meeting numerous owners and their crews, as well as the guaranteed nice atmosphere at wonderful locations,” said Zademack.

Shortly after the announcement of the Ibiza JoySail Superyacht Regatta, four YYachts owners had already registered and even more are expected.

Ibiza JoySail is sanctioned by the SuperYacht Racing Association and supported by the Ocean Racing Congress.

The event will take place from 22 to 25 September 2022.
