Groupe Beneteau has unveiled their latest five-year plan in a presentation released this week.

According to a statement released by the group, the plan includes “measures to expand its portfolio of downstream activities to include services, in synergy with its distribution networks.”

The group’s future investments will focus on the digitalisation of its activities and a re-evaluation of its processes.

The group will move from 12 strategic brands to eight: Beneteau, Jeanneau, Prestige, Lagoon, Four Winns, Wellcraft, Delphia and Excess.

“The four remaining brands will have the opportunity to continue their stories through new partnerships or joint ventures currently under discussion,” revealed Groupe Beneteau CEO Jérôme de Metz during the webcast.

Glastron and Scarab are among the four brands that the group will be moving on from going forward.

The group’s business is down 17.8 percent for the nine-month year. With their yards shut down due to health risks, the contraction in revenues showed a downturn in business except for fleet sales, which are up 26.8 percent.

The new plan, called Let’s Go Beyond, is based on three pillars. According to a company statement:

  • Groupe Beneteau will build its strategy around the eight brands but will cover the same number of market segments with reduced investments.
  • It seeks to make plants more efficient in order to accelerate development times.
  • The company will seek a more streamlined managerial organisation that is structured around global core functions.

A more developed financial breakdown of this plan will be presented in autumn 2020, when the Beneteau Groupe releases its full-year earnings.
