Dufour Yachts will officially present the upcoming Dufour 470 and DUFOUR 61 at the online boat show, Virtual Nautic next month.

Both models are scheduled to be shown across the world later this year – the Dufour 470 beginning a tour of Australia, the US and Europe in May and the Dufour 61 travelling through Europe from September.

Scheduled for 12–13 March, the Virtual Nautic, organised by Salon Nautic, is the replacement of December’s Salon Nautique International de Paris boat show, which was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.

Both models will have exclusive private tours available at the online event.

At an overall length of 14.85 metres, the Dufour 470 is a symbolic renewal for the French brand, the vessel hosting innovative additions that include an entirely closed cockpit, large bathing platform and optional built-in telescopic davits.

The Dufour 470’s refined hull, infused with polyester and glass fibre, and based on modern racing boats, ensures greater stability and improved maritime performance when sailing. The new shell design offers a refined silhouette while allowing for an impressive interior volume.

The Dufour 61 on the other hand is a vessel that combines aesthetics with practicality to the smallest detail. Its bulwark, for example, is directly integrated into the hull and the coach roof provides the increased room for a broad foredeck. The interior follows a similar path of combining style with function – the port galley’s cerebral design creating a large, warm layout within the ship’s saloon.

Romain Motteau, Fountain Pajot CEO, the parent company of Dufour Yachts, said of the DUFOUR 61: “This is the company’s new flagship, marking the increasingly important presence that Dufour has taken in the world of top-of-the-range yachting.”

He continued, “While we have kept everything that made up the quality of the Dufour 63, we have focused even more on the marine performance and robustness of the new Dufour 61.”

“Beyond this quality of comfort on board, robustness is one of the boat’s strongest features, which can also show offer her fine seakeeping qualities.”

All current Dufour Yachts models, including the Dufour 470 and Dufour 61, are available in three variations – Easy, Ocean and Performance. The models are also available in three interior styles – the Boston, Europe and the Millennium.

The digital exhibition won’t be the company’s first experience with virtual tours, however. Following COVID-19 restrictions, Dufour Yachts launched its Virtual Marina in April last year with plans to upgrade the initiative, including the implementing of three different viewpoints from the deck and allowing all available variations to be seen.

Dufour Yachts was founded in 1964 by naval architect and engineer, Michael Dufour. In 2018, the company was purchased by Fontaine Pajot.
