Founded in 2010, the Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award continues to celebrate the most striking and powerful images captured each year in competitive sailing, with photographers from across the globe invited to submit their best image taken between 13 October 2025 and 12 October 2026.
Firmly established as the international reference in sailing photography, the competition enters its 17th edition with the continued support of Pantaenius, Europe’s leading specialist in yacht and boat insurance, and showcases the intensity, beauty and emotion of the sport.
The contest is open to professional yacht racing photographers worldwide and rewards photographic excellence, while also offering international exposure to talented photographers, and promoting sailing to a wider audience.
The 80 best images selected by the international jury will be published online, allowing the public to vote for the Public Award. The top 20 photographs will be exhibited throughout the Metstrade Show, in the central hub of the exhibition.
“The Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award has become a key moment in the sailing season,” said Bernard Schopfer, organiser of the event.
Alongside the achievements of our sport’s champions, the world’s finest photographers are celebrated each year in November. It is thanks to them that sailing enjoys such visibility, and that these champions can be truly recognised.”
The prize giving ceremony will be held during the Yacht Racing Forum in Amsterdam on November 20, in front of leading figures from the international sailing and yacht racing community.
Now open, entries for the Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award 2026 will be accepted until October 12.
Prize money has been confirmed, and two prizes will be awarded: The main prize, the Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award, selected by the International Jury; and the Public Award, based on the number of public votes cast on the Internet.
The winner of the Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image award will receive € 1500 prize money, with the second placed to receive € 750 prize money. The third placed will receive € 250 prize money. The winner of the Public Award will receive € 500 prize money.
