The first hull of the 24-metre ClubSwan 80, named My Song, is the fifth in a series of yachts commissioned by experienced yachtsman Pier Luigi Loro Piana.

Pure high-performance one-design racing is the promise of the latest member of the innovative ClubSwan family, the ClubSwan 80.

Designed to deliver the ultimate experience for owner-drivers, the ClubSwan 80 combines the quality, elegance, innovation, performance, and reliability of Nautor’s Swan, the vision of Juan Kouyoumdjian, the expertise of strategic partner Persico Marine and the interior style of Nauta Design.

Though optimised as a pure racer, comfort can be added for sports cruising, and performance is already part of the ClubSwan 80 DNA. To make her a light boat with a shallow draft, My Song features a 4.75-metre canting keel, as well as a retractable bowsprit that can hoist a spinnaker and twin rudders.

Nautor’s Swan teamed up with Persico Marine, based in Nembro, an international shipyard renowned worldwide for its expertise in building high performance yachts.

Persico is putting to good advantage its know-how acquired from the series production of VO65s and larger advanced high-performance one-design boats currently sailing.

Nautor’s Swan, Juan Kouyoumdjian and Persico Marine, together with selected experts in different fields (Vittorio Volonté for the project management, Giovanni Belgrano for the engineering, Scott Ferguson for the Rig Design and Nauta Design for the Interiors,) worked together to bring to life the ClubSwan 80.

“This boat is built to the same standards we use for America’s Cup boats and IMOCA 60s engaged in the toughest ocean races such as The Ocean Race and Vendée Globe,” said Marcello Persico, CEO of Persico Marine.

The racing dèbut of the ClubSwan 80 My Song will be in the crystal waters of Porto Cervo, during the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup from 4 to 10 September.

On 4 September, guests are invited to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda where Nautor’s Swan Management together with its partners in the realisation of this project will walk their guests through the project, the construction and a visit of the latest addition in the ClubSwan Yachts family.

In 2020, Enrico Chieffi, Nautor Group Vice President introduced the concept of ClubSwan 80 to the world, saying the brief at the heart of the new project was to create a maxi yacht for real time racing: identical yachts, modern, fast and fun to compete with the same equivalent features, relying on the owner’s abilities at the helm.

“We’d like to introduce a new concept into the world of Maxis and invigorate owner participation on an international level,” he said.

“That’s the reason why we have created a new ClubSwan 80 and put together the most brilliant minds in the yachting industry, working with the aim to evolve the accepted principles in the sailing world.”

Founded in 1966, Nautor’s Swan is recognised all over the world for its performance sailing yachts. The key elements of the brand are elegance, quality, performance, innovation and reliability.

With a state-of-the-art facility based in Pietarsaari, a Global Service with five hubs in the Med and 19 service points, the divisions ClubSwan Racing, Brokerage and Charter, Nautor is a brand round 360°.

Over five decades, more than 2,300 yachts have been built between 36 and 131 feet. The range is divided into 4 different lines: ClubSwan Yachts, Swan Yachts, Maxi Swan Yachts and Swan Shadow, the first motor yacht by Swan.

Jewels in the crown of the ClubSwan Racing calendar are the Rolex Swan Cup, organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (Porto Cervo), and the Nations Trophy, dedicated to the Swan One Design yachts (ClubSwan 36, ClubSwan 50, Swan 45, ClubSwan 42).
