The Royal Western Yacht Club is pleased to announce that Galway local employer Genesys is confirmed as the principal sponsor to this year’s double handed and fully crewed RB&I Galway stopover.

Fergal Lyons, Rear Commodore of Galway Bay Sailing Club and stopover manager of the RB&I race said, “Genesys is a technology company with a significant Galway outpost.

“They are well known in Galway and we are delighted to announce that they have come on as a title sponsor for this year’s Galway stopover, the first visit of the race which we are really excited about. We look forward to showing all visiting yachts and their supporters the warm Galway hospitality and a great time.”

Adrian Gray, Race Director and Rear Commodore Oceanic for the Royal Western Yacht Club, said “To have such a prominent organisation supporting this event is testament to the history and legacy of the race as well as the vision and passion Galway and Genesys have for sport, both on and off the water.”

Genesys is a global cloud leader in customer experience orchestration and significant employer in Ireland. They’re a very familiar business in Galway and further afield, as Genesys is also the title sponsor to the Connacht rugby team.

Royal Western Yacht Club Commodore, Chris Arscott added, “The two handed Round Britain and Ireland Race is going from strength to strength and, with this new stopover to the race, we see subsequent years only growing in stature.

“We thank Genesys for their support and very much look forward to everyone enjoying the “Genesys Galway Stopover to the Round Britain and Island Race.”
