Sail Expo 2026 will be held at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in Newport, NSW, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, following the event’s successful 2025 edition.
The free two-day event will bring together sailors, yacht owners, prospective buyers and the marine industry, with more than 30 sailing yachts expected to be displayed at the club’s waterfront facilities.
The on-water line-up will encompass cruising and family yachts, performance boats and multihulls, giving visitors the opportunity to step aboard and compare a range of sailing yachts in one location.
Onshore exhibitors will represent a broad cross-section of the marine industry, including sails and rigging, electronics, engines, safety equipment, insurance and other products and services associated with yacht ownership.
Yacht share operators will also participate, providing information for sailors considering shared ownership as an alternative to purchasing and maintaining a yacht independently.
The program will include yacht inspection tours and information about learning to sail, alongside live entertainment and food and beverage options.
Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club Commodore Julia Hornsby said the response to the inaugural event had demonstrated demand for a dedicated sailing show.
“The success of last year’s Sail Expo held at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club demonstrated just how strong the appetite is for a dedicated sailing event in Australia,” Hornsby said.
“It was fantastic to see sailors, boat owners and their families, along with industry professionals and those considering their first yacht, come together for what was a truly outstanding event.
“The response to last year’s event was incredibly encouraging, and Sail Expo has now firmly established itself in sailors’ diaries as an event not to be missed.
“We are delighted to announce Sail Expo 2026 and look forward to building on the momentum of last year’s success.”
Sail Expo spokesperson Graham Raspass said the event was intended to provide an accessible way for experienced sailors and newcomers alike to explore boats, equipment and different pathways into sailing.
“Sail Expo is a great opportunity to get close to the boats, meet the people behind the industry and ask questions about sailing,” Raspass said.
If you are considering buying a yacht, exploring the different options available, or simply curious about getting out on the water, there will be people on hand to share their knowledge and help you discover more about sailing.
“With the wide range of new yachts on display and a broad range of exhibitors on shore, there is plenty to explore, from cruising and racing to yacht ownership, crewing, equipment and simply finding out more about sailing.”
Sail Expo 2026 will run from 10am to 4pm on both days. Entry and parking at RPAYC’s Crystal Bay Street car park are free.
Visitors will also be able to arrive by water, with a complimentary tender service operating between RPAYC and selected public wharves around Pittwater.
