Hanse Yachts has revealed the brand’s next upcoming model, the Hanse 460.

Designed to combine next level sailing performance and luxury, the 14.6-metre sleek Hanse 460 slots in between the Hanse 458 and the 508 in regards to style and function.

On one level, the Hanse 460 offers an easy sailing experience, evident in how all of its functions are operable from the helm position, utilising only one set of winches. The self-tacking jib, which enables easier manoeuvring, and the option for electric furling systems and secondary winches, confirm this comfortable user experience.

The mainsheet on the coachroof allows for maximum comfort in the cockpit, while the actual design of the coachroof, alongside the deck layout, ensure optimum viewing when helming the model. Twin wheel steering is also present with the option for a chart plotter.

Equally, the Hanse 460 has been optimised for fast cruising, with its Berret-Racoupeau-designed hull ensuring performance, stability and balance. The high rig, large sail area and keel options complement this, providing a high-performing vessel.

The Hanse 460’s Quantum gennaker as well as its option for a 105-percent genoa or a furling reacher prioritise customisation to offer unbridled performance in a variety of wind conditions.

This notion of customisation is a defining characteristic for the model with the Hanse 460 available in 12 layout choices – providing various cabin, canvas and canopy versions alongside additions such as the optional wetbar and bathing platform.

All layouts include large hatches above the saloon with 14 openable deck hatches overall as standard, providing both good light and airflow throughout the boat.

“Hanse’s tagline has always been ‘breaking the rules, setting trends’,” says Windcraft Yachts Managing Director Anthony Bishop.

“And this new 460 is the flagship model for that new generation of Hanses. There will be subsequent ones to come – there are some new [models] in the pipeline, which we don’t have details on yet.”

Windcraft Yachts has confirmed that the broker has secured several hulls of the Hanse 460.

“New models are always great for any brand,” Bishop adds. “It’ll be exciting to have the first of something very new for owners to come and have a look at and for people to come and have a look at.”

The announcement of the Hanse 460 trails the recent confirmations of parent company HanseYachts AG for an upcoming motorboat brand, expected to be introduced later this year, as well as a record of over 1000 orders in the previous year.

The first Hanse 460 destined for Australia and New Zealand is expected to arrive in 2022, making its Australian premiere at the 2022 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
