An Elan E4 has made the long journey down to set sail in Sydney Harbour.

Slovenian brand, Elan Yachts has seen one of its Elan E4 models have its hand over sail to its new owners in perfect conditions across Sydney Harbour earlier this month.
The new vessel, named marri nuwi by its owners, was sold via Performance Cruising Yachts and took roughly six months to complete from the initial order – the hull being completed in December and delivered to Sydney in mid-March.
The Elan E4 is, according to a press release, the number one seller for the Sydney-based yacht broker.
With and length and a beam of 10.60 and 3.50 metres respectively, the Elan E4 is a yacht that aligns with both performance and comfort.
Its twin rudders, broad stern and chined hull for example enable this model to be capable in short-handed sailing, crewed racing or a relaxed cruising.

Internally, the Elan E4’s combination of solid wood trim, elegant and clean lines, as well an abundant space ensure a relaxed, easy onboard experience.
“We were looking for a boat with a high standard of finish and good performance in light airs, at the right price to cruise and race,” said co-owner Alistair Rowe.
“We sold the Dufour in August 2020. We inspected an Elan S4 in September and placed an order after comparing it to other boats.”
Both Rowe and Alison Parkes, also a co-owner, are members of the Port Hacking Yacht Club.
“Our sail on Sydney Harbour last week with 12 to 14 knots of wind was a great location for our first test sail.
“Upwind the sloping seats and elevated footrest for the helm ensured our comfort. The helm was extremely light due to the twin rudder arrangement, with no sign of weather helm.
“Internally the boat is spacious and comfortable, we slept well in the forward cabin over the Easter break, and the cushions and fabrics are to a high standard.
“I would also like to note the high standard of interior fit-out and cabinetry, the Light Oak finish with its solid wood edging should be long lasting.”
