The Series will be headlined by Southport Yacht Club’s premier flagship event, the Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 Regatta, which will run from 2 January to 6 January.
The Southport Yacht Club will work with Club Partners at Queensland Cruising Yacht Club and Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron to offer a fantastic array of sailing events for local, interstate and international skippers and crew to participate in.
Bragging rights can now extend beyond winning Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 to winning the Summer of Sailing Series Australia.
“We all know that Skippers love to brag,” joked Drew Jones, Southport Yacht Club’s Vice Commodore.
The Summer of Sailing Series Australia will incorporate six major sailing events, all hosted off the coastlines of Brisbane, The Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The Series will be held over three months, from November 2022 through to January 2023.
In addition to trophy accolades and bragging rights, skippers are offered free berthing for all entered events. In addition, $1,000 ClubCash at Southport Yacht Club will be given to skippers who enter at least three of the series events.
“It’s an extra bonus and a fantastic way to celebrate the debut of this inaugural Sailing Series,” said Southport Yacht Club’s General Manager, Brett James.
Entries are now open for Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 with monohull, multihull and trailable yacht classes encouraged to enter.
