In 2016, X-Yachts launched the new pure ‘X’ range which included the X4³ and the X6⁵. This range was exceptionally well received by both press and clients with more than 50 yachts sold in the first year.
The ‘X’ range incorporates the best elements from both the Xcruising range and the Xperformance range into one beautifully designed performance cruiser capable of delivering ‘Suberb Sailing Pleasure’.
Whether doing family sailing trips, long distance blue water cruising or competitive sailing, the X4⁹ offers the best combination of everything X-Yachts has developed over the years.
The X4⁹ utilises vacuum infused epoxy lamination, giving the ability to save weight. This is paramount to increase the weight of the lead keel bulb, lowering the centre of gravity, assisting the hull to drive through the waves. This is key to delivering a stiff yacht without the keel draft being extreme, enabling the X4⁹ to moor in shallower waters.

The hull is available in a number of colourways and is oven baked, enabling the option of dark topsides without the risk of surface deformities.
The hull topsides include six large portlights, with a further eight openable coachroof portlights on deck for optimum light and ventilation. In addition to this the forward face of coachroof is fitted with curved toughened glass, maximising interior light. All of these combined make below deck feel light, airy and spacious.
For when you are at anchor, there is a large electrical operated bathing transom door, which allows easy access to the water, and a dinghy garage for storing up to a 2.7 m inflatable.
As you step below deck you will notice the spacious entrance with laminated raw teak steps, to prevent slipping, and elegant laminated teak handrails. The X4⁹ will welcome you with lots of new ideas, light and ventilation. There are a number of layout options available, all beautifully presented in a modern and internationally recognisable style and quality.
Standard Oak veneers in a Nordic style or with an option for Burma teak, white vinyl paneling, teak laminate floor boards, bright white walled bathrooms with teak gratings and Corian worktops with integrated Corian sinks (Q Pack).
X4⁹ will have a very low center of gravity, has a carefully engineered and designed hull, powerful epoxy infused sections, heavy lead bulb, tanks below the floorboards, triple spreader, rod rig supported mast, folding propeller and recessed hull skin fittings, and will deliver in both light and strong breezes.
The spacious interiors offer a multitude of options to ensure the yacht is well suited to specific needs. The standard Oak interior is light and airy, while the optional teak interior offers a more classic look.
“When designing the new X4⁹ I wanted to combine the sleek, low profile lines of the new X range with luxurious high spec interiors to create a modern performance cruiser that will sail beautifully as well as be a joy to live aboard,” said Niels Jeppesen, company CEO.
The X4⁹ is offered at an introduction price of Euro 479,900 for the 10 first models. Included in this price is X-Yachts standard Quality Package representing a value of Euro 75,500.
The new X4⁹ will debut at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in January 2018.
X-Yachts has built almost 6000 yachts since 1979. All X-Yachts are built as a full sandwich construction.
The “Xcruising range” (five models between 35 and 50-feet) are X-Yachts’ attempt to deliver comfortable long-distance cruisers in a contemporary style, implementing all the standard X-Yachts qualities, which ensure superb sailing qualities.
The” Xperformance range” (five models from 33 to 55-feet) are focussing on maximum performance and are therefore utilising vacuum infused epoxy lamination for ultimate strength/weight ratio.
