For the Laser Squad it’s been a busy and productive time in the lead up to the World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. After a strong start to the European season earlier in the year, the boys are keen to consolidate the gains and keep improving for the World Championships.

The Team started off with a coaches regatta in Aarhus this month. While it is not a formal event, it still provided a great opportunity to get the world’s best together for some sparring practice and test and refine their skills on the water. It allowed us to get a good idea of the venue and make Aarhus feel like home.

We don’t like to spend too much time in one venue, so after two weeks in Aarhus we jumped on a flight to Lake Garda, Italy for some training and relaxing. It’s the ‘Go to’ venue for our squad if we ever have the chance to get there. It’s an awesome spot with heaps do to and a view you can never get over.

For the team, it’s a serious training block away but we still all enjoy it at the same time. Whether it’s racing each other on road bikes up mountains, or seeing who can go the fastest on a windsurfer, there’s a strong yet healthy level of competition which is always present in the group, which everyone definitely thrives off.

Once were back in Aarhus for the final lead into the World Championships, it’s all business.

At this stage, it’s all about putting the finishing touches on the training and refining the gear. To balance the intense preparation, I like to keep things fairly relaxed going into an event, so in my downtime I like to explore a bit of the city, or play the guitar.

All of the Laser boys are keen to get into the racing at the Worlds, we’ve all put in a lot of hard work over the last year and are ready to test our skills against the worlds best.
