The Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Harbour Regatta is primed and ready for lighting up the waters around Sydney for the 18th time.
Hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club, the regatta will see some 200 boats and crews will compete across 19 divisions and seven course areas on the waters of one of the best sailing harbours in the world, or offshore within sight of the harbour entrance so spectators are in for a treat.
Sailors from all over Australia will be competing with all divisions racing on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March for this annual event. The Nautilus Marine Sydney Harbour Regatta shows the true diversity of sailing with the waters around Sydney shared by all types of vessels from historic 18ft skiffs to high tech carbon fibre machines.
The event is also the choice of venue for the hotly contested J/99 Australian Championships and Sydney 38 Australian Championships.

Peter Byford and David Hudson are the defending champions in the Sydney 38 class and are bringing Conspiracy down from Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club to race.
“We always look forward to racing in this regatta,” says Peter Byford.
“The Sydney 38s provide very close one design racing and the opportunity to be part of an event with so many boats is one not to be missed. The Sydney 38s were mostly built around 2000, they are indestructible and still provide some of the best racing you can experience.”
The Sydney 38 association is also actively promoting women in sailing by chartering a local yacht to be made available for all women crew. Positions are available so interested sailors are encouraged to contact the association directly.
Also recently announced is that the Farr 40 NSW Championships will be contested as part of the regatta. The popularity of Farr 40s has surged in recent years and the organisers are expecting a good fleet to line up on the start line.
In the spirit of co-operation sailing clubs from across Sydney come together to support the event with officials, volunteers and on water resources over the two days to ensure a memorable regatta for all participants.
This spirit is shared by Nautilus Marine Insurance as they come on board as the major sponsor for Middle Harbour Yacht Club and the Sydney Harbour Regatta.
Nautilus Marine Insurance CEO Lyndon Turner loves his time on the water as much as anyone and is looking forward to the weekend.
“Supporting yacht owners and their passion is at the heart of what Nautilus Marine Insurance does. What better way to share our expertise, and to join sailors from all over for two days of celebrating the spirit and camaraderie of sailing.”
Nautilus Marine Insurance’s relationship with Middle Harbour Yacht Club continues onshore as their sponsorship is designed to support the whole club from offshore aficionados, to off the beach classes including the club’s extensive junior sailing program.
