Recognition and accolades for local sailors are on the cards for 2021, with organisers of the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame confirming that entries for inductions have officially opened.

First established in 2017 from a collaboration between Australian Sailing and the Australian National Maritime Museum, the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame is considered the highest level of recognition within Australian sailing, acting as a platform to honour the most significant contributions and performances to the sport.

Nominations are open across two categories: the sailor or athlete category and the general category for those who have played a critical supporting or leadership role in sailing.

Previous inductees into the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame include the crew of the iconic Australia II, Olympic gold medallists Jenny Armstrong OAM and Belinda Stowell OAM, and sport icon Greg Hyde.
