Race Week entries approaching cap

Proving its popularity, Hamilton Island Race Week has attracted close to 200 entries for this year's edition.

After a two-year absence, the island is preparing to host the 2022 Hamilton Island Race Week, 20 to 27 August 2022.

Within the first few weeks of releasing the Notice of Race, Hamilton Island Race entry numbers are already at record levels, which has prompted organisers to cap numbers in 2022.

“We are nearly at 200 entries,” states Denis Thompson, Race Week Director.

“Not being able to stage Hamilton Island Race Week for the past two years, we expected a lot of entries, however, we did not anticipate they would come in so quickly,” he adds.

“We are looking forward to the excitement, the spirit, the fun and the camaraderie that the Race Week sailors and their families and friends bring to our shores,” says Hamilton Island CEO, Glenn Bourke.

“Given this unprecedented booking pace, the Race Committee have made the decision to cap the regatta numbers. We are fast approaching that cap now, so I encourage anyone planning to register to do so as soon as possible.”

Accommodation is always at a premium so yachties and visitors are encouraged to get in early.
