Two-time Rolex Sydney Hobart line honours winner InfoTrack, formerly LawConnect, will race under its original sponsor’s name for the first time in four years, with owner and skipper Christian Beck targeting another victory in the 628-nautical-mile offshore classic.
The return of the InfoTrack name also marks the launch of the ‘Sailing for a Purpose’ campaign, which will raise funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation while bringing sailing fans closer to the action through onboard technology and live streaming.
InfoTrack joins a formidable fleet of four 100-foot maxis contesting line honours in the 81st Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, alongside Anthony Bell’s Tribeca LOYAL, Grant Wharington’s Wild Thing 100 and Mark Richards’ Palm Beach XI.
The four supermaxis will compete for the Illingworth Challenge Cup, awarded to the first yacht to cross the finish line in Hobart.
Media personality and 2026 Australian Father of the Year Matty J has been announced as an official ambassador for the campaign and will join the 21-strong crew for the sailing season and Boxing Day race.
Beck, founder of InfoTrack, says the return of the company’s name to the yacht represents a new chapter for the campaign.
“This year, we’re bringing the InfoTrack name back to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race using our technology to bring people closer to the race and support Starlight Children’s Foundation,” Beck says.
“This is the people’s boat. We want everyone to feel part of the race, whether they’re watching us live from onboard the InfoTrack SuperMaxi, following the crew from start to finish or donating to Starlight.
“If we can make a difference to sick kids and their families along the way, that’s a win in itself.”
The partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation aims to harness the international audience of the Rolex Sydney Hobart to support seriously ill children and their families.
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter says the campaign offers sailing fans an opportunity to contribute beyond the sporting spectacle.
Thanks to InfoTrack, the millions of people who watch the race will have the opportunity to help Starlight create moments of happiness and joy for seriously ill children and their families that will last long after the race is over.”
Matty J, who has been a Starlight ambassador since 2024, says the opportunity to combine sailing with fundraising has particular significance for him.
“As a dad of three young girls, I know what it’s like to experience the stress of illness and emergency trips to hospital. That’s why I’m so proud to support Starlight and the incredible work they do for sick kids,” he says.
“Learning to sail was my New Year’s resolution, so I’ve certainly thrown myself in the deep end. Being part of the ‘Sailing for a Purpose’ campaign is a unique opportunity to help make a real difference, and I can’t wait to get out on the water with the crew.”
Technology will also play a central role in the campaign, with InfoTrack planning extensive live-streaming coverage from onboard the supermaxi.
InfoTrack CEO John Ahern says the yacht will showcase the company’s focus on innovation, teamwork and high performance.
“The InfoTrack SuperMaxi will have the most advanced technology on the water. With a record number of cameras live-streaming from onboard, including throughout the night for international viewers to follow the race as it unfolds,” Ahern says.
The 2026 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race starts on Sydney Harbour at 1pm AEDT on Saturday 26 December.
The start and finish will be broadcast live through the official race website and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s CYCATV YouTube channel.
