In January 2023, Marina Port Vell was named the “Preferred Superyacht Marina” for the 37th America’s Cup due to its strategic location at the heart of the city, the quality of its facilities, and the premium, high-value services it can offer large yachts visiting the city.
Visitors will find gourmet cuisine, ‘VIP On-Board’ programs to follow the competition live from premium vessels, and “Luxury Boutiques” of leading international brands.
The marina is also home to the British team, INEOS Britannia, one of the challengers in the competition, and offers views of the Swiss team and the America’s Cup Experience.

Marina Port Vell is set to welcome over 110 superyachts, meaning that, on any given day, there could be around 2,500 yacht owners and guests, along with approximately 1,000 crew members.
Additionally, via to agreements with public and private entities in the city, the facility expects to welcome thousands of visitors over these two months.
Marina Port Vell has crafted a unique and exceptional dining selection for the duration of the competition. The Sea Garden space will open as a restaurant, offering diners a Mediterranean-inspired menu on two terraces overlooking the sea. Additionally, a large screen will provide live coverage of the competition. The Blue Wave cocktail bar will be serving a wide variety of cocktails, a selection of cold tapas, accompanied by a carefully curated DJ program.
Visitors to the marina can also experience the Möet & Chandon Terrace, serving exclusively oysters and champagne on a sea-view terrace, or the Estrella Damm Lounge, located in front of the main building (The Gallery), with a more informal atmosphere.
During the competition, Marina Port Vell has arranged exclusive boutiques featuring luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Prada, as well as Maui Jim sunglasses, the Gloria Diagonal project, developed by Conren Tramway, and the INEOS Grenadier car brand.
The official Marina Port Vell boutique, located in The Gallery building, will offer official America’s Cup merchandise and items from all the competing teams in an exclusive setting. Additionally, Marina Port Vell has created a premium collection in collaboration with the iconic luxury fashion multi-brand store Santa Eulalia on Paseo de Gracia.
To make the most of this special occasion, Marina Port Vell has organised an exclusive range of unique experiences, including the ‘VIP On-Board Experience,’ a fantastic opportunity to follow the competition from aboard the prestigious Wajer Yachts’ elegant and sophisticated Wajer 38 and Wajer 55, with a maximum capacity of twelve people.
Two exclusive VIP areas will also be available in the marina, offering unparalleled views and refined cuisine before boarding.
Also, there will be concierge services offering customers an exclusive range of personal services.
Finally, Marina Port Vell will feature LED screens throughout the facilities so visitors can follow the competition, and an exhibition about Patí Català at the docks to explain its history, and a spectacular entrance welcoming visitors evoking sea waves and yacht sails.
In July, Marina Port Vell, the leading superyacht marina in the Mediterranean, completed its repositioning project and associated investment plan. This began in 2021 and involved a €20 million investment to enhance its infrastructure capacity and service quality for large yachts.
The transformation plan, focusing on water surface area reorganisation, landscaping, and a new fuel system, aims to boost Barcelona’s profile as a Mediterranean nautical hub and premier destination for large yachts. It also seeks to balance and harmonise the various uses and spaces of the different docks in the Port of Barcelona, specialising in offering services for large yachts.
